24.04.2008
On April 16-17, 2008, a team of specialists from our hospital made another visit to
a regional center to provide medical examinations to orphan children. This time,
the team visited Smolensk. The group was headed by Deputy Head Physician of the Russian Children's
Clinical Hospital N.A. Ignatieva and included I.M. Chinenov, Head of the Department of
Ophthalmology; E.S. Ilyina, Head of the Department of Psychoneurology-2;
M.B. Sagalovich, Head of the Department of Nephrology; M.E. Karmanov, Head of the Department
of Endocrinology; Prof. D.A. Bizhanova, pediatric gynecologist; G.V. Kozyrev, urologist;
I.V. Trubin, orthopedist; V.A. Batyunin, maxillofacial surgeon; and E.S. Mar'mova, pediatrician.
The consultations took place on the basis of the Smolensk City and Regional
Pediatric Hospitals. The physicians examined 110 children (a total of 332 consultations).
The work was organized very well. Specialists from the city and regional out-patient clinics
of Smolensk attended the consultations and told about the case histories of their
patients. The Head Physician of the Smolensk Regional Pediatric Hospital Yu.V. Ryabukhin
thanked our charitable foundation
for financing medical help to children left without parental care and handed us
an official letter of thanks.
Among children presently examined, we met our little former patient
Vasya P. (the photo on the right shows
how he is looking now). We are happy to tell that the kid will soon leave his orphanage forever:
a family is ready to adopt him.
