Dear friends,
The staff of the Departments of Oncohematology-16 and -27, Oncology,
and Marrow Transplantation together with the parents of our patients
thank you for your enormous help and support in buying the lacking
drugs for the treatment of children. This help has made it possible
for us to survive during the difficult stage in the functioning
of our hospital, when the state financing for 2006 had already
ended and the financing for 2007 had not yet begun. Virtually
all the lacking medicines were bought in time.
Unfortunately, we will need your help for a month or two more,
because gradual supply of the necessary drugs to our hospital
is still slower than needed by our departments. But we cannot
stop or interrupt treatment of our patients!
Now we need a number of very important drugs that are
indispensable to treatment of malignant lesions.
The situation is further aggravated by the fact that
several patients of the oncohematological departments have
lung aspergillosis. Treatment of this complication requires
a large amount of Vifend. Without this expensive drug,
even patients in remission (as to their oncological disease) will
lose their chance of survival, because the uncontrollable
fungal infection will make further chemotherapy impossible
and thus lead to a relapse of cancer.
We have to ask for your support again!
With hope and respect,
Head of the Department of Marrow Transplantation E.V. Skorobogatova
Head of the Department of Oncohematology-27 N.V. Myakova
Head of the Department of Oncohematology-16 D.V. Litvinov
Physician of the Department of Oncology O.B. Polushkina
26.01.2007
The total cost of the drugs needed by patients of
these four departments exceeds 2,500,000 roubles (almost $95,000).
Since some important drugs are currently lacking at the Russian
Children's Clinical Hospital, urgent help in their purchase
is required:
