used for irradiation of his blood. Elena bought 4 more vials of Ambisome for Igor Moskalenko, and Gilead Co. donated 2 more vials. Igor's condition is very serious, but so far it is stable. 27.06.2002 Ten vials of Ambisome were bought for Igor Moskalenko and Olya Krivonosova from the Marrow Transplantation Ward. Both children have a fungal infecion, which may be treated only with Ambisome, because the kidney can no longer bear other antifungal drugs. Unfortunately, this medicine is very expensive; one vial costs 242 USD. Therefore we are asking for your help in buying it. 10.06.2002 Igor Moskalenko is in a very grave condition. He is still suffering from aplasia, and, in this situation, he has now got sepsis. Granulocyte transfusion may be helpful. All friends and relatives of Igor's parents with a suitable blood group have already donated their blood, and donors with group A(Rh-) are now badly needed. We are asking everybody who can help Igor to respond to this plea. And please pray for his recovery. Since Igor Moskalenko is in such a condition, he may not take Proleukin that was bought for him. Therefore, this medicine was handed over to Valeria Zyuzina. She is feeling more or less well; there is no fever, and the results of tests are good. She is now taking Proleukin and gradually getting ready for leaving the hospital. 20.03.2002 Igor Moskalenko had marrow transplantation on February 28. Now he is in the early post-transplantation period, and so far there are no complications. Igor has no fever, but the engraftment has not yet taken place; the doctors expect this may happen by the fourth week following the transplantation. not be indifferent to our grief!Our son Igor, who will be fifteen in May, fell ill with leukemia. It took only a month to make a healthy and vigorous boy almost unrecognizable: he lost much weight, had no appetite, was constantly dizzy, complained of abdominal pains. He could not go to school in September; instead he was taken to a hospital, and there we heard the terrible news: our son has myelocytic leukemia M4. Our life stopped that very day. Now it is our fifth month at hospital. Igor's friends and classmates visit him. We see how they grow up and become stronger, and our son only fades. Now he is again a little helpless kid for me; he needs more care than a baby would. Igor went through three blocks of chemotherapy, and now he is constantly under a dropper. We still hope that our beloved son will get well. We cannot imagine how we'll be able to live without him. But Igor has to undergo marrow autotransplantation for complete recovery. And after the transplantation, he will need Proleukin, a very expensive medicine. One vial costs 408 USD, and we need 12 vials. My husband was formerly in the army, now he is a pensioner and works as a security guard. I had to quit my work six months ago. We are unable to find almost 5000 USD for this medicine.
