New information will be available in two weeks at least, while operation result may be unclear up to 120 days.

Vanya Shcherbenev
Tragic circumstances forced us to plead for help. In January, 1997, we lost our first-born son Artem who died when he was four months old. Now, the physicians of the Russian Clinical Children’s Hospital try and save our second son Vanya whose diagnosis is a severe combined immune insufficiency. The little boy is located in a sterile room as any slightest infection can prove lethal for him. The only way to save his life is a transplantation of the bone marrow. The medicines required for the operation cost about $50,000. Neither we nor the hospital which is a budgetary organization have the amount. We are pleading with people who can help our son. You are the only our hope. Parents of Vanya Shcherbenev.

Many thanks to all who have responded!
