«Many thanks to all who helps us to save our Dima. Currently, we live in our home village. After 9-month absence, Dima has recalled all his belongings, acquaintances, and classmates. He began to play with his sister, watch TV, listen to his player. He is getting surprised by anything new. Sometimes, he pulls his sister's hand or hair and smiles at that; he plays with his toys, repeats words, calls our cat, uses mimics to show what he wants. He returns to life gradually. We are very grateful to all who support Dima's life. May Our Lord bless all of you!
Parents of Dima Zaitsev, Boyanovichy village, Kaluga oblast.»

In June, 1998, my son, Dima Zaitsev, was taken to the Russian Clinical Children’s Hospital with a diagnosis of acute renal failure. The boy has undergone renal dialysis, but it turned out to have too severe side effects. Dima suffered large pressure drops and convulsions, then a pulmonary edema and brain edema occurred. The most fearful thing came in August, 1998. It was a cerebral insult with a IV degree coma, which resulted in a paralysis and motor and speech disfunctions. Dima needs kidney transplantation, but at the moment the kid is too weak, so the surgery is impossible. The boy can only be saved with a peritoneal dialysis, and it would take about one year to restore Dima’s health. The treatment requires $1200 monthly. Our family can't afford it. When I was working as an t elementary school teacher, our family of four lived off my monthly salary of 420 rubles. My husband is an agricultural farm truck driver, and he is literally paid nothing. With all my broken heart, I am pleading with you for help with purchasing expensive solutions required for transition to peritoneal dialysis. It is the only thing that can save my child.
