Dasha was born on November, 1999. In December
1999, her mother stepped on a mine when holding Dasha in her arms. The mother
died, the child survived. Her grandmother and uncle took care of Dasha.
In May 2000, the girl was admitted to the RCCH Department of Neurosurgery,
where she went through several operations and was sent back home. Dasha's
grandmother died three years ago, and Dasha's uncle took her to the RCCH
and then went away, leaving a note that he refuses to take care of her.
Since Dasha has no Russian citizenship and no documents at all,
she is still staying at the RCCH.
Diagnosis: consequences of a shrapnel wound of the brain. Internal fragmentary hydrocephalus, symptomatic epilepsy. Dasha is completely paralyzed and does not communicate with other people, but breathes and ingests food by herself. The girl needs disposable diapers (weight up to 25 kg) and fruit juices. |
